Mount Chocorua Piper Trail

The Piper Trail, first blazed in the 1860’s by Joshua Piper, is steeped in history. Originating from the gateway opposite the old Wing’s Tavern, this path has been a gateway to the breathtaking vistas of Mount Chocorua for over a century and a half. Today, it stands as a testament to the enduring allure of the White Mountains, drawing hikers from near and far.

Begin at the large trailhead parking lot on Piper Trail Road. It has enough space for at least 40 cars. Make sure to purchase a site pass for the duration of your visit.

The first part of the trail, following an old logging road, is an easy walk through lovely woods. You’ll see how much love this trail gets from the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) .
