Summary
Hiker ascended Ashokan High Peak on December 30, 2024, via Kanape Brook trail. Minimal snow patches on trail; snowshoes not needed at current conditions, with some snow visible on the north-facing side.

Normally I wouldn't write a report for such a common peak, but I figured I'd share so as to provide nearly current conditions... I ascended via the Kanape Brook trail from the W on 12/30/24. No other souls around for the 3h4m round trip. There are but a few patches of snow all the way to the summit so snowshoes are completely unnecessary until we get some more snow. There is a bit of snow on the N side, as visible when looking down from the summit.
