On Sunday, three of us went up Plateau for what we like to humorously call a "gentleman's hike." We save that title for a hike that's only one mountain or easier and also a later departure time of 7:00 a.m. from New Jersey.
This gentleman does not have much to report from the trip. Snowshoes stayed in the car. Hillsounds all the way. Partly sunny day and windy as hell, all the way to Orchard Point. We did the flat walk to the summit and back and then had a gentleman's beverage at the middle viewpoint of the three because it was the least windy.
It was a simple but solid day. Just 3 gentlemen traipsing through the woods on an oldie, but goodie.
When we returned to the parking lot I noticed one car that had some serious New Hampshire stickers on it. It was interesting to me because some of them I had to look up, but I know they were all related to Peak bagging. Whoever's car was was definitely a hardcore hiker. He or she had a grid sticker for NH 48, NH redliners, NH 200, 300, and 500 highest peak stickers, and a few other serious ones that require some hardcore bushwacking. I don't even know why I'm mentioning it, I guess it was just interesting to me. I guess they were taking a break from New Hampshire to come see the beautiful Catskills!
Other than that we stopped and had pizza at Brio's. They put sesame seeds all over the crust of their pizza. I guess that was interesting and different to me as well. The 3 gentlemen collectively ate 6 slices.
Thank you very much and have a nice day.
