Grace.points met Fiddlehead and his girlfriend Saturday morning at the Beaver Brook Picnic area to leave a vehicle for a car-spot, and then drove to the Seven Dwarfs motel to start the hike. We bare-booted to the summer trail-head and then put on snowshoes. The climb up North Twin was pleasant with the sun shining through the trees. Climbing North Twin It got colder and the wind picked up as we neared the summit. At the view spots, the bigger peaks were still in the clouds, so we kept going toward South Twin. As we got closer to South Twin we had a view of the Presidentials, which were out of the clouds. The view of the Presis Approaching South Twin It was windy and cold on the summit, but we enjoyed the views before continuing on. We made our way down the the Galehead hut, where we stopped for lunch in the sun. A view of Franconia Ridge and Mt Garfield from South Twin Lunch on the porch of the Galehead Hut Looking up at Galehead We made the quick out and back to Mt Galehead, stopping at the view spot on the way back. The view of North and South Twin from Galehead, you can see the hut about 1/4 in from the left The hike out to Beaver Brook was uneventful. After a short bit on the Gale River Rd, we didn't have any problem finding the cut over to the Beaver Brook rec trails, which took us to the parking area.
