UPDATE 5/2/2025: Long Pond Ironworks State Park in New Jersey is open. However, due to the November 2024 Jennings Creek Wildfire, the trails in Sterling Forest State Park in New York remain closed . Specifics on these closures are listed below:

Sterling Forest State Park Trail Closures:

Bear Rock Trail WEST of Western Valley Trail, including Vista Point Trail

Fire Tower Trail EAST of Lakeville Trail

Fire Tower Trail WEST of Sterling Ridge Trail

Lake to Lake Trail

Sterling Ridge Trail SOUTH of Fire Tower Trail

West Valley Trail SOUTH of Bare Rock Trail

Highlands Trail: NY-NJ state line to the Fire Tower
