A 32-year-old hiker from Connecticut became severely dehydrated on the Feldspar Brook trail on Gray Peak on June 13 and required helicopter evacuation by state police and forest rangers. The hiker was vomiting and unable to move under their own power when rangers located them.

Three Forest Rangers responded to a hiker experiencing muscle cramps and exhaustion on the Beckhorn trail in the Dix Mountain range on May 24. The group of five was sheltering in place but began feeling hypothermic; rangers assisted the remaining hikers to the Elk Lake trailhead.

Two hikers on Dix Mountain became overdue while returning to Elk Lake trailhead on the evening of May 23. One hiker had an injured ankle; both were located and assisted by Forest Rangers, with the injured hiker reaching the trailhead at 4:45 am.
