A two-day backpacking trip to climb Gray and Skylight peaks in the High Peaks, with camping at Herbert Brook Lean-to. Wolf Pond is a 4.8-mile round-trip trail in the Vanderwhacker Mountain Wild Forest with approximately 450 feet of elevation gain. The trail follows Wolf Pond Brook through mixed forests and offers views of High Peaks; hikers should expect muddy conditions in spring and mosquito activity in early summer.

A bushwhacking trip on November 18 to Table Top Mountain (4427') and its Middle peak (4306'), undertaken in fresh snow with excellent visibility. The hiker found deep drifts, thick vegetation, and cliff bands with icicles, but manageable terrain and safe workarounds throughout the off-trail ascent and descent.

A New Year's Day ascent of Franconia Ridge in the White Mountains featuring Lafayette, Lincoln, Little Haystack, Flume, and Liberty. The hiker used microspikes on ice flows above treeline but hiked the lower trail without snow, encountering good weather and clear views throughout the day.

Three hikers became lost and unprepared for weather conditions on Haystack Mountain and required assistance from Forest Rangers to return to the trail. Rangers provided food and water and advised checking weather forecasts before hiking.
