The MacIntyre Range is a striking ridge chain west of Mount Marcy in the Adirondack High Peaks, featuring Wright Peak, Algonquin Peak, Iroquois Peak, and Mount Marshall. The classic traverse spans roughly 12 miles and offers steep alpine terrain with panoramic views, suitable late June through early October, with conditions that can change rapidly even in summer.

A winter hike to Marshall on a cold Sunday with heavy morning snow that transitioned to clear skies; deep snowpack and bent trees made ascent tedious despite protected conditions, and the summit and surrounding terrain were snow-covered.

A mostly easy-to-navigate route featuring Wright, Algonquin, and Iroquois peaks in the MacIntyre Range. The trail follows MacIntyre Brook initially, includes some technical scrambling and steep slab climbing, and offers exceptional views from the three summits. Wright Peak is noted as particularly windy and requires relentless steep slab climbing from the junction.</summary> <parameter name="confidence">Low

The Avalanche Pass Trail has been closed indefinitely following a major landslide triggered by intense rainfall in mid-July that destroyed the trail corridor between Lake Arnold and Avalanche Lake. Multiple peaks accessed via this route (Algonquin, Colden, Marcy, Skylight, Gray) are no longer accessible via their typical loop routes, though some remain accessible as out-and-back hikes.
