DEC reopened the Stanley J. Hamlin Marsh Wildlife Management Area trail in Onondaga County after temporary closure for fire cleanup and boardwalk replacement. A boardwalk and viewing blind were destroyed by fire on May 13, 2026.

Volunteers and staff completed reblazing and reconfiguration of trails in the southern section of Norvin Green State Forest in New Jersey as of late October 2025, creating several new color-blazed loops with improved navigation. A two-day backpacking trip to climb Gray and Skylight peaks in the High Peaks, with camping at Herbert Brook Lean-to. Hiker completed a morning ascent of Twin and Indian Head via the Jimmy Dolan Trail on June 29th, starting before dawn from the Prediger Road trailhead. The well-maintained trail with good stonework and lookouts provided pleasant conditions, though the hiker was unable to locate the reported cliff view on Indian Head.
